Congressman Mark Green Endorses Montgomery County District Attorney Robert Nash

Congressman Mark Green (R-TN-07), who represents Montgomery County, endorsed District Attorney Robert Nash in his bid for another term in the position.

Nash, who has lived in Clarksville for more than four decades, is running to serve the 19th Judicial District after Governor Bill Lee appointed him to the role in 2021.

“When you think about what that district attorney [role] means to our community, providing a safe place for all of us, I can’t support anybody but Robert. He has tried more murder cases, at times probably two or three, than anyone running in this race,” Green said in a video released by the Nash campaign.

Before being appointed to the position, Nash served as assistant district attorney since 2007. While serving, the attorney touts a “100% conviction rate of violent criminals.”

“Robert Nash is the real deal. Our communities are safer because he is our District Attorney. I wholeheartedly endorse Robert Nash to continue as our District Attorney,” the congressman added in a statement.

Nash is running in the Republican primary that will take place later this year. His opponents are 23rd Judicial District Assistant District Attorney Steve Powers and Clarksville Assistant City Attorney Neil Stauffer.

“I’m honored and humbled by Congressman Green’s endorsement. I’ve admired his professionalism and courage in representing our state for many years. His endorsement of my campaign to remain the district attorney for Montgomery and Robertson counties gives me a lot of encouragement as we enter early voting,” stated the candidate, Robert Nash.

The 19th district serves Montgomery and Robertson counties, which includes Austin Peay State University and a section of the Ft. Campbell Army base, according to the Tennessee District Attorneys General Conference.
